The Assembly of Armenians of Europe addressed a statement to the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states, the EU presidency, the EU high commissioner for foreign affairs and international human rights organizations to condemn Hungary’s decision.
“In February 19th, 2004, the Hungarian court sentenced Ramil Safarov to life in prison for the vicious crime, without the right to any pardon in the first 30 years.
Violating the European and international laws, the Hungarian authorities extradited the criminal, Ramil Safarov, to Azerbaijan on August 31 in suspicious circumstances. On the day of his transfer, he was pardoned and released by Azerbaijan’s hereditary and lifetime president, Ilham Aliyev, and was honored with the rank of mayor by Azerbaijani Defense Minister Abiyev for his cowardly and inhuman deed,” the Assembly says.
There is nothing left to say for the Assembly of Armenians of Europe as the step itself is discrediting. Azerbaijani authorities proved the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries and other European bodies the fact, which was obvious at least for Armenian and especially Armenians in Artsakh, that killing an Armenian is heroism in Azerbaijan.
Based on the above mentioned and after the extremities in Baku and Sumgait, the NKR authorities have the fair right to demand from the international public not to endanger Karabakh citizens lives under the fake demands of territory completeness.
We demand from all the organizations and bodies, protecting human rights, to condemn the shameless step of Hungary, to end corruption and the ignorance of international law because of the state profit.
