Former governor of Kharkov, member of Yulya Timoshenko’s “Батькивщина” party Arsen Avarkov wrote on his facebook page today:
“On February 19th, 2004 Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan was axed in Budapest during NATO’s trainings by Azerbaijani Ramil Safarov, the latter tried to kill the second Armenian but didn’t succeed.
He explained his action by the fact that the victim was an Armenian. The murderer pleaded guilty. The juridical investigation found him psychologically competent. Hungarian court sentenced him to life-imprisonment without the right of pardon during first 30 years of sentence. After 8 years Hungary surprisingly extradites him to Azerbaijan where he gets pardon and status of major and even news are going around about honoring him as a hero.
Hungary sold the murderer for 3 billion dollars price hoping that justice can be neglected. Now Hungary tries to misshape the suit saying that Azerbaijan had promised that the criminal will go on bearing his sentence.
In this affair the Azerbaijani mass media mentions the name of Ilham Ragidov who had studied with Putin, especially connected to the fact that Russia gave no reaction to this event yet.
Hungary is sure to face hard times. The universal public will by all means demand explanations. Armenian Diaspora has already spoke up all over the world. Dissatisfaction increases in Armenia, in Yerevan tomatoes were thrown towards Hungarian consulate and then the Hungarian flag was burnt. The diplomatic scandal is increasing.
Armenia is offended. Each and every Armenian is offended irrespective of the fact where he lives after the Genocide in 1915.
The opposite party, Azerbaijan moves by the path of self-foolishing and tries to accuse Armenia. And already an article was published that Armenia supports Iran over the nuclear issue. This is the most unreliable way to deviate from the topic: “Why in XXI century a purposeful murder is heroism?”
In reality there is war coming.
The moral aspect of this issue shows that the Genocide of Armenians is not over. I don’t know how many years are needed for the humanity to realize the law written in almost all the Constitutions which is intuitively obvious even to a child.
“All people are born free and equal with their dignity and rights. They have logic and conscience and must treat each other in a brotherly manner.”
What beautiful and touching words!
The US president Barak Obama expressed deep dissatisfaction on this event and demanded explanation from Hungarian and Azerbaijani authorities.
And why does Ukraine keep silence? Because of new geopolitical interests or the meeting with Turkish president in Crimea where Azerbaijani president is likely to join as well?
Politics can’t be moral.
The announcement by Ukrainian authorities is sure to be important for 1 million Armenians in Ukraine and for the Ukrainian nation.
Armenia and Azerbaijan are on the eve of a new war.
By its silence Ukraine chooses the path of marginalization.
