Azerbaijani media reports that Azerbaijani ambassador to Hungary, Vilayat Guliyev, and State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Relations and co-chairman of the Azerbaijani-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, Péter Szijjártó, have discussed the issue of imprisoned Azerbaijani officer’s return.
According to Azerbaijani ambassador to Hungary, Vilayat Guliyev, both sides stressed the issue “was resolved under international law”.
We should recall that earlier Hungary’s government condemned Azerbaijan over the release of a military officer who was earlier extradited to his home country by Hungarian authorities and Vilayat Guliyev was summoned to the country’s Foreign Ministry yesterday, where State Secretary, Zsolt Németh, presented him with a protest note.
