The representative of Revolutionary party Bureau Hrant Margaryan views as exaggeration the news that Syrian-Armenians have taken weapons and are protecting their districts and homes with the Free Syrian Army.
“I think that news is exaggerated, the reality is that by limited measures they try keep save their homes and Armenian institutions from the so-called criminal units, hooligans. But they don’t take part in everything this.”- said Margaryan in the interview with “Freedom” radio station.
According to him, Syrian-Armenians are the citizens of that country, they can be for or against the opposition, but the community as a whole remains neutral in the sense that “The fight between brothers can’t be the way out, and the community mustn’t try to become the target.”
The representative of Revolutionary party Bureau said that it’s a pity that Armenians become victims of the military actions, but we must note that There is no Anti-Armenian movement or Anti-Armenian demonstration in Syria yet.
And what about news of the threats against Armenian community announced by the Syrian opposition, Hrant Margaryan thinks that: “It was just a group of opposition, and the opposition as a whole has denied this fact.”
