On August 28, the minister of Diaspora met with the United Nations Children’s fund representative Henriet Arensin. They discussed the issues of the Syrian Armenians coming to Armenia, especially the issue concerning the children. According to the speech of the Minister the issues of Syrian Armenians are in the centre of attention of the RA Government. The minister spoke of the projects done forSyrian Armenians and about the privileges given to them of State level support.
The UN Children’s Fund representative Henriet Arens expressed eagerness to support the Syrian children. During the meeting, problems of Syrian Armenians’ education, health and social issues were discussed and also questions concerning possible cooperation.
The representative of the fund Henriet Arens mentioned that the information he got during the meeting with the Minister of Diaspora will be presented to the UN children’s fund, then the possible ways of cooperation will start.
RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan expressed hope that they will reach to an agreement and each of the collaborations will be in favor of Syrian children’s well-being.
