RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received US Deputy Secretary of State Joshua Haq. The RA MFA reports this. The interlocutors discussed bilateral agenda as well as regional issues.
Both sides emphasized the importance of joint efforts to develop a strategic partnership, a new milestone in bilateral relations between Armenia and the USA, and outlined upcoming plans.
In addition to deepening the political dialogue, he also referred to the possibilities of expanding cooperation in sectoral directions, including promoting trade.
“Relations between our countries have recently been developing with intense dynamics, adding new content, being built on strategic dialogue, and we are interested in continuing active cooperation in different directions,” Mirzoyan noted.
Regarding regional issues, Ararat Mirzoyan and Joshua Haq discussed regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The head of the RA foreign political department stressed the importance of avoiding artificial obstacles on the way to the conclusion of the peace treaty developed after two years of negotiations and signing the agreed text to ensure lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
