Regarding sources, Bloomberg reported on Thursday that Representatives of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are trying to convince European countries of the need to restore diplomatic relations with Syria and loosen sanctions.
According to the agency, the officials of the Arab monarchies have been lobbying the idea of restoring relations with Syria for several months in conversations with the representatives of the European Union.
Their interactions take place at different levels. During the talks, representatives of the Arab countries claim that diplomatic means to end the 12-year conflict will be useless if the sanctions are not eased. According to them, this step will allow to revive the ruined economy of Syria.
