A Russian beluga whale was spotted off the southwestern coast of Sweden. The whale was first spotted in Norway in 2019, with cameras attached to its collar and the inscription “Equipment Petersburg 2019”.
The whale is trained to follow ships. Allegedly, it may have escaped from a military training base. It is also very friendly with people, probably due to its training.
