Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the parliamentary delegation of members of the Argentine Senate and Chamber of Deputies, led by the president of the Armenia-Argentina Friendship Group, Guillermo Andrada.
The Prime Minister welcomed the delegation’s visit to Armenia and emphasized the continuous development of Armenian-Argentine relations. The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction the expression of moral positions on sensitive issues for Armenia in the Senate of Argentina, which also happens due to the active activities of the friendship group members, “I hope that as a result of your visit, the bilateral political, economic, and cultural dialogue will continue to develop and strengthen,” said the Prime Minister.
The Argentine parliamentary delegation members emphasized the Armenian community’s role in the closer cooperation between the two countries. Guijermo Andrada added that they would continue actively contributing to expanding and deepening cooperation in various fields.
Issues of regional importance were discussed at the meeting. In particular, issues related to the humanitarian crisis created in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan’s illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor, Azerbaijan’s policy of subjecting the population of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing were discussed. The interlocutors considered the aggressive rhetoric of the Azerbaijani authorities and attempted to abort the negotiation process unacceptable. Addressing the rights and security issues of the people of Nagorno Karabakh was emphasized.
