President of Turkey R. Erdogan reiterated Ankara’s desire to buy F-16 fighter jets from the US in a phone call on Monday. At the same time, Biden told him that Washington wanted Ankara to stop opposing Sweden’s NATO membership.
The telephone conversation occurred when Biden called Erdogan to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential elections.
