The governor of Florida, Ron de Santis, who is now officially registered as a candidate for the US president, is considered the primary opponent of the Republican Trump. He has come out of the shadow of former US President Donald Trump.
“Trump is a completely different guy today than he was when he was running in 2015 and 2016,” de Santis told Tennessee conservative radio host, Matt Murphy, adding: “I don’t know what happened to Donald Trump.”
De Santis began to criticize Trump in the last months of his presidency when Trump’s countdown to leaving the White House had already started. De Santis, who worked in Congress for two years under Trump and was one of Trump’s closest governors for another two years, is now harshly criticizing him and positioning himself as the prominent leader of the Republican Party in the upcoming presidential elections.
