RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan countered Azeri President Ilham Aliyev at the extended session of the EAEU Supreme Council. Pashinyan, in particular, stated: “Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev used an expression in his speech, which in recent years serves as a basis for territorial claims against Armenia. It is used in the framework of the execution of the Armenian declaration of November 9, 2020; I want to emphasize that in that statement, it is only about one corridor, and it is the corridor of Lachin. It should be under Russian peacekeepers’ control, but unfortunately, it is illegally blocked by Azerbaijan.
On the other hand, I would like to note that Armenia is ready to unblock all the region’s communications that pass through the territory of the Republic of Armenia. We are prepared for the opening of these communications within the framework of RA sovereignty and legal framework.”
