The head of the German government announced at the event organized by Rheinische Post that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not expect Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to end soon, as peace is only possible with the withdrawal of Russian troops.
“We must be prepared that it (the war.-ed.) may last a long time. Things will not immediately return to normal even when the war is over. But we also must not stop our efforts to end it,” the chancellor added.
