Official sources write that price of Azerbaijani gas stated in media sources with reference to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia Kakha Kaladze does not coincide with the real cost of supply.
According to Kakha Kaladze, the numbers in media reflect the average price considering the supply of Azerbaijani gas from Shah Deniz through South Caucasus gas pipeline, gas supplies by SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and fuel received from transit of Russian gas through the territory of Georgia.
“We are not only importing gas from Azerbaijan, we get some of it from transit of Shah Deniz gas, transit of gas from Russia… in the aftermath, the price is 186 dollars,” -Kaladze said.
So, Kaladze explained that a figure of 186 per 1,000 cubic meters is the average price for Azerbaijani gas received from all sources.
