Azerbaijani media reports that General Assembly of the Madrid club will be held in Azerbaijan in 2013.
As reported, the decision was adopted at the annual conference of the Madrid club held in US Little Rock city with participation of former heads of states and governments of over 40 countries of the world; former presidents of the United States Bill Clinton, Latvia Vayra Vike-Freiberg, Kyrzgystan Rosa Otunbayeva, Finland Taria Halonen, Portugal Jorge Sampayo and others attended the event.
Former president of Latvia, member of the trusteeship council of the International Center of Nizami Ganjavi Vike-Freiberd proposed an initiative to hold the general assembly of 2013 in Azerbaijan. This issue was put on voting with the support of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan.
The conference was devoted to the role of a woman in the world as part of the General Assembly. Former Prime Minister of Holland Wim Cock opened the event.
