“Haykakan Zhamanak” writes today the head of the PAP Gagik Tsarukyan and his delegation will be back from Brussels and it is possible he announces his decision on putting his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections. Some political powers in the country exclude Tsarukyan’s candidacy in the elections and believe he will announce his support for Serzh Sargsyan, others state Tsarukyan has enough ground to put his candidacy taking into account the PAP’s participation in recent initiatives fostered by the opposition and the factors speaking for his candidacy prevail over those against.
“People’s power” party coordinator Zoya Tadevosyan stated their candidate for the elections is Levon Ter-Petrosyan and if the political consultations do not bring to a commonly agreed upon conclusion, then each party will put the candidacy of its own representative, states Tadevosyan. She also added if Ter-Petrosyan does not put his candidacy and Tsarukyan does instead she will most probably not participate in the elections.
