Yerakouyn.com reports “Sasna Tsrer” epos is most probably to be included in UNESCO non-material cultural heritage list. Apart from the Armenian epos, Venezuelan epic poem “Dancing Satans” and other 51 other creations of different nations have applied for it.
The discussions on the matter will take place on December 3-7 and the winners will be announced at the end of each day.
The secretary of the non-material cultural heritage of UNESCO states their aim is to preserve whatever cultural values the nations have created so as to make them available for the coming generations.
The annual budget of the program is $6.5 million and is distributed to different nations to preserve their non-material cultural heritage.
