The public relation section of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia reports the solemn opening of the 4th Armenian composing arts festival will be held today at 19:30 in Aram Khachaturian concert hall. This year the festival will be dedicated to Tigran Chukhajyan’s 175th anniversary who was the first of the Armenian composers to write an opera. The ceremony will open Robert Amirkhanyan – the founder of the festival and the president of the composers and musicologists union of Armenia. The movements from Tigran Chukhajyan operas “Arshak the Second” and “Karine” will be performed throughout the concert with the state academic theatre of opera and ballet (conductor – Karen Durgaryan) and the choir (conductor – Karen Sargsyan).
The festival takes place since 2010 with the support of the Ministry of Culture, State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and the union of the composers and musicologists union of Armenia.
10% of each bought ticket for the concert will be donated to “Dedicate a life” charity foundation which aims at supporting the children with leukemia and cancer.
