The Armenian National Committee of America- San Fernando Valley West Chapter (ANCA-SFW) met with California State Senate Candidate Todd Zink on October 22. Zink hopes to win the Senate election of the newly drawn 27th district and represent greater parts of the San Fernando Valley in Sacramento.
The ANCA-SFW Board was present to greet Zink and discuss areas of common interest. During its discussions, Zink displayed a firm belief in ensuring quality public education, including an accurate and full instruction of the Armenian Genocide in our classrooms. As a first time candidate for public office running as the Republican candidate, Zink also embraced the need for fiscal responsibility in Sacramento.
“It is essential to meet and discuss the concerns of the Armenian-American Community in this district because it encompasses a large Armenian population” said ANCA-SFW Board Member Tonya Barseghian.
Drawing on his leadership as a former United States Marine Corps Officer and a current Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, Zink stated that he had the skill set necessary to lead the district in these difficult economic times. “It was great to meet with Mr. Zink to talk about our community’s concerns” exclaimed John Tashtchian, a Board Member of the ANCA-SFW Chapter, “he has an intelligible grasp on the problems facing the district and a fresh perspective on how to resolve them” Tashtchian concluded.
